Winterton Seal Hospital (Save Our Seals)

Seal Release 7th March 2005

It was a fairly non-descript morning. A little chilly with a light breeze.
Four Harbour (Common) seals were prepared and ready to be released back to the wild.....

The Quad bike with crate Recently a new quad bike had been bought to aid with rescues. As yet it was untried and untested. Quad bike ready to move
The release site was only two miles away from the hospital. The seals were crated up, put on the trailer and hitched up to the new quad bike. On reaching the site the quad made light work of hauling the crates up and over the gap between the dunes, going over some pretty uneven sand where diggers and cranes had worn deep tracks........no problem!
Crates lined up Finally all four crates were lined up ready for the big release. Ready to go
The trap doors were lifted........and away they went.
The seals are off The seals are off The seals are off
