OJO

My name is Ojo in Spanish it means "eye". I am a grey seal pup and was two weeks old when a beach walker/farmer called Rob found me on Waxham sands on 29th of January 2007. He was very worried and thought I may not be alive. Rob telephoned Winterton Seal rescue as he realised I was just alive. I was rushed into the seal hospital where special treatment to keep me alive was given for 48 hours.

I also had a badly damaged left eye caused by a blow and have lost my sight in it, special seal eye cream and antibiotics helped to heal around the injury, with my good eye I can see and catch fish quicker than the other seals. I also catch fish using my whiskers, which are very sensitive, and allow me to feel fish in dark water or fish hiding in the sand.

Simon, the vet, says I can go back to the wild when my weight is 80lbs.
