Hospital (Save Our Seals) Pups News Update - 23rd June 2008 |
| Bunny, Jim, California and Scrat are still in the outside rehabilitation pools and need to put on some more weight before they are released back into the wild. We are still concern about Robie's poor vision and not sure if he will be able to cope in the wild! |

We have a new arrival . . . our first Harbour (common) Seal Pup of this season (she is approximately 5 or 6 weeks early) which Harry rescued on Wednesday 18th of June 2008, second time around. We were called out late morning initially to the beach at California but she appeared to have gone back into the sea as there was no sight of her. Various people had stated that she had been crying out in apparent distress when they'd seen her. Later in the afternoon, following further calls, Harry went to Scratby, and eventually discovered Bobby, almost up as far as Hemsby. He believes that if it had been an hour or so later, she would not have survived. |
| Bobby is a very beautiful, very tiny baby female, still a matter of days old. When she arrived here at the field hospital, she weighed in at 17½lbs (and is the smallest seal we've seen yet!) She appears to be ok (bodily functions-wise) and has a fine voice on her! She is being tube-fed four times daily with milk. Her teeth haven't come through yet.
