photo of Bunny was taken by Jill Jacobs Buster a 3 to 4 week old baby harbour/common seal, was rescued by Cathy (seal nurse) late at night from a windy and wet Caister beach, Buster weighed 35 lbs and had a temperature of 37.9. He was found to have rope or net burn marks on his body which he must have received while trying to escape from his entanglement (can be seen round neck on photo). He's had medication and is now eating fish on his own. Buster has now been moved into a pool with Shad and Ginger.
Misty, a harbour/common seal pup, was rescued by Sue and Andy from the foreshore at Ostend, near Happisburgh, on 31st August 2008. He was found to have a hole through the roof of his mouth, probably caused by pollution, and ulcers. He will be in the hospital for some time, for a daily medication spray into his mouth. Misty's weight when rescued was 30lbs, his approximate age was four weeks old. Recently Misty has been able to swallow fish during hand feeding.photo of Misty was taken by Jill Jacobs
photo of Ginger was taken by Jill Jacobs Ginger, a three week old harbour/common seal pup, was rescued a few weeks ago from Great Yarmouth seafront by Jill and Maria after a visitor at a local hotel reported seeing a seal in distress. Ginger has now recovered after two weeks of treatment with antibiotics and a special mouth spray.
