Pups News Update - 15th January 2008

We have been very busy over the Christmas period and had received over 30 calls from members of the public who have seen seal pups in the wild.

Kim, a harbour (common) seal pup, was rescued on 24th of November 2007 from Trimingham. She is filling out and looks plump and sweet and looks a lot like Cindy before her release. If the weather is good next week, she should be able to be released back into the wild. [Kim far right seal, looking just like Cindy now].

Photo of California was taken by Teya D'Artell on 16th December 2007 California who was rescued just before the Christmas period, has lost her white coat but is sporting a soft grey fur with speckled markings and still looks very sweet and beautiful. California still has that sweet baby look. Over the Christmas period, she came off being tubed and had 70 little sprats for each meal and sucked them like a big baby. California makes little whining noises. She is still just a few weeks old as she was only a day or two old when she was found.

Big Jim is eating fish now. He was just sucking the heads before Christmas. Big Jim needed some medicine over Christmas as he was having breathing problems but he is fine now. He is still small and but it will be a while before he is big and strong enough to be released back into the wild.
