Newbuoy, a rescued pup
SAVE OUR SEALS

NEWBUOY
Newbuoy was a 4 month old grey seal pup found by the rescue team on the 5th of April 2001 on the north Norfolk beach having lost half of his original (36 lb) weight. Breathing on one lung, because of lung worm, and with a high temperature which made him so weak he could hardly lift his head, our rescue team quickly got him back to our field hospital. We started him on a fish soup, by tube, every few hours, and after 2 weeks we managed to get him onto whole fish. He gave us great concern for the first few weeks, as we did not know whether he would pull through, but now his is a strong swimmer, and splashes around as we throw his fish into the pool.
