Winterton Seal Hospital (Save Our Seals)

Jon-Koff was rescued on 30th October 2009

Photo of Jon-Koff Jon-Koff, a harbour/common seal pup, was rescued by Harry, our centre manager, and David, one of our volunteers, from a seal colony on 30th October 2009. The pup was found to be injured and bleeding from a dog attack to rear flippers and face and coughing with suspected lung worm. Jon-Koff was approximately 3 - 4 weeks old when rescued and weighed 32lbs with a high temperature of 37.9. After force feeding Jon-Koff with fish for 10 days, giving medication to wounds and for the lung worm, Jon-Koff has a normal temperature and is breathing much more easily now.

Jon (dutch name) Koff (a small dutch boat) is now catching his own fish in the weaning pool.
May we remind people not allow their dogs to run free on the beach whilst walking near seal colonies.
