Winterton Seal
Hospital (Save Our Seals) Jon-Koff was rescued on 30th October 2009 |
![]() |
Jon-Koff, a harbour/common seal pup, was rescued by Harry, our centre manager, and David, one of our volunteers, from a seal colony on 30th October 2009. The pup was found to be injured and bleeding from a dog attack to rear flippers and face and coughing with suspected lung worm. Jon-Koff was approximately 3 - 4 weeks old when rescued and weighed 32lbs with a high temperature of 37.9. After force feeding Jon-Koff with fish for 10 days, giving medication to wounds and for the lung worm, Jon-Koff has a normal temperature and is breathing much more easily now. Jon (dutch name) Koff (a small dutch boat) is now catching his own fish in the weaning pool. |
| May we remind people not allow their dogs to run free on the beach whilst walking near seal colonies. |
