![]() | Flipper, a harbour (common) seal pup, arrived on 16th July 2008, he was only 2-3 days old, weighed 21 lbs, with a temperature of 38.16, (size: length of an arm). We received a 999 call by coastguard via holiday-maker, after watching a man and his dogs chase the pup into sea. Later Flipper was found by lifeguards near a ravine. He was picked up and found by seal rescuer Loretta, who transferred him to the Winterton Seal Rescue Team Ralph and Christine. |
| Upon arrival at the hospital, Flipper was found to be bleeding from his mouth with ulcers caused by pollution in sea, high temperature and completely exhausted. After medication and rehab salts, and four feeds with special milk, temperature down and sleeping. Flipper is lucky to be alive after being pushed back into sea! Situation time 4 hours, 10 phone calls and 9 people. |
