ERIC

Eric, a 2 weeks old male grey seal pup, was found by a member of the public on Boxing Day under the high cliffs at Happisburgh in Norfolk. He weighed 37 pounds with a low temperature of 36.9, exhausted and cold (colour code marks on white coat showed he was washed all the way down from the Isle of May, Firth of Forth (approximately 180 miles)) and very lucky to be alive. As Eric was very extremely exhausted, we put him in a nice cosy warm isolation pen in the hospital where he slept for 48 hours. After he had woken up, Eric was given fish soup before being weaned onto fish.
