Derek, a rescued pup DERICK

Derick, a Grey seal pup, was rescued on the 12th of December 2005 from Bacton, near the Bacton Ship pub, laying against the sea wall, he was about 3 weeks old and weighed 38lbs. Derick had been on the beach for some time with no sign of his mother and had been battered against the sea wall by storms. When he arrived at our hospital he was found to have a low temperature and minor wounds to his body.
Update: 1st May 2006
Derick is still in the hospital is now starting to eat fish on his own. He now weighs 60lbs and soon will join the other grey seals in one of the outside pools.
This photo of Derick was taken on 30th of April 2006.
