Buster Buster, a grey seal pup, was trying to keep away from a high tide when rescued from Kessingland Beach after 999 call on 14th December 2010 at 5pm. With help from Mike and Judith, members of the seal rescue team, Buster was picked up and driven back to the hospital. Upon arrival here at Winterton Seal Hospital, Buster was found to weigh 38 lbs. Buster still had some white fur left from when he was born [which you can see from the photo below]. |

Later Harry, the centre's manager, noticed green coloured spray on the rear flippers and he phoned a warden up on the Farne Island, who confirmed it was a colour code which was put on the newborn pups by means of a lance-type pole (in order to avoid getting too close to the newborn pups). This one had been done on the 4th of December 2010, so Buster had been washed down in rough seas and high tide from his birthplace, 200 miles away, arriving in Suffolk just 10 days old. At the seal hospital, Buster took all his milk down by tube and slept for 48 hours. |
