BIMBO
Bimbo, a 3 week old grey seal pup, was rescued from Winterton on 13 January 2003 weighing 55 lbs. First seen 3 days earlier on some rocks with no mother and crying. With the help from the local coastguard, the hospital team managed to get down a 30ft cliff, in rough seas, to attach a box harness to haul her to the top of cliff. By then she was so exhausted, she went to sleep.
In the hospital we gave her rehydration salts, by tube and a special milk flown in from the seal hospital in Holland, she then slept for another 48 hours. Still a baby she has to be fed milk or fish soup several times day and night.
Bimbo likes to pretend to be a dolphin in her own tank, jumping in and out of the water and soaks everybody. (Bimbo came from the Scroby sands colony, the rescue team were Robin, Harry and Coastguard Barry).
