| BATTLE Battle was found on 28th of December 2006 by Emma Nichols who was on her early morning seal patrol at Winterton Ness grey seal colony. He was a 3 weeks old male weighing 60lbs, who had been badly mauled by a dog. Rescued by the "Seal Rescue" team from Winterton Seal Hospital, he was found to have injuries to his mouth, tongue, nose and right flank and had an injected eye. He had a high temperature of 79.8 and was bleeding badly from his wounds. After being given antibiotics and liquid salts to heal any infections, he was tended to by the vet and a seal nurse for the next seven days. Battle is still in the hospital, but he is now eating fish and loves playing with a running hose pipe. |
